Favorite kind of weekend

My weekend consists of exciting activities: laundry and writing and walking my dog and visiting with my mom (I'm recruiting her as a storyteller for a couple of camps, but she doesn't know it yet--if I can talk her into it, she will be fantastic). This is my favorite kind of weekend.

What's yours?

One that simply involves forgetting about work (when I'm not actually working the weekend because of my shift cycle, of course). One that doesn't require me to answer the phone just because it's ringing. Is it a female thing, this answering of phones? *smile* My ex-wife would get cranky if I didn't answer the phone and now my daughter is doing the same thing quite often.

Dad, are you gonna answer the phone?

"No, are you?"

But it's your house and your phone; why don't you answer it?

"Because I'm not expecting any calls and because I don't wish to answer it right now."

*grrr, mutter, mumble* Hello? Oh, hi Trina. Coffee? Yeah sure, see you in about ten...

Hehehe. Yep, 99% of the time.

Boy do I understand that "forget about work" thing. 'Hope you succeed!

As a matter of fact, I hate talking on the phone and am perfectly contented to let the machine get it (Confession: I am terrible about returning calls too). My husband is your ex-wife. :) It drives him crazy.

Fortunately, these days most calls are for my teenage son.
