I had one of those days at work that amounted to fielding complaints from the time I walked in the door until the time I walked out.
The most frustrating part? It wasn't any of it my fault. It was someone else's inept handling of information.
In brief, I work for a system in which, the higher up the ladder one goes, the less accountability there is. So there is no one to complain to when a specialist is screwing up because the people higher up than them don't want to mess with their own good thing. I am low-woman on the totem. I answer to EVERYBODY--200+ parents, 150 kids, 21 council members, 8 county commissioners, 5 specialists, 4 colleagues, and three stray dogs. Oh and a partridge in a pear tree.
I am grumpy and not fit for man ner beast tonight. I want to quit.
Meanwhile I've edited another six pages last night and today.

Ha! Is there any other???
I sympathize: sounds like my work world, too....
this helped me:
"There are no "good guys" who are entirely without flaw; and no "bad guys" with nothing else to offer".
Pleasant 4th to you and yours.
Probably not Jim. After a lot of years home with the kids, working has been quite an education in human nature.
Hello (again?) Anon
Thank you very much for the quote. I may need to hang that over my desk at work. And happy 4th to you as well.
