Fastest rejection in the west. I sent the query off at 4:59 and received the albeit polite rejection at 5:02. I really thought I'd have the weekend to sweat this.
Of course I'm wondering if the letter was that bad or what, but I suppose that's pointless.

The next agent on my list asks for snail mail only. I think I'll query that one plus two more at the same time. This means I have to purchase ink for my printer which means it will wait until pay day. I've been using blue or green to print hard copies of anything for about two months (What can I say? Money's tight).
Guess I'll look further down the list for now and query someone else who accepts e-mail queries.

Aaaaww, so sorry to hear that, Mary; keep your chin up, girl.
:-)
Thanks Scotty!
Frankly, I expected rejection this time. I've been following his blog for some time (gives good advice) and I've taken notice of his tastes which seem to run to non-fiction political, historical fiction (mysteries?), and chick-fic. Interestingly, he lists sci-fi as one of the genres he represents, but none of the books on his list of published authors are. He was simply a friendly place to start.
I just didn't expect it to take less than two minutes for him to reply, which says a lot about the oft quoted bit of wisdom that goes "You have less than thirty seconds to wow an agent in."

Exactly. You can't let rejection get you down.
