Spring up close and personal

First of all, Solomon wants you to know that he feels much better today.

Secondly I'd like you to know that Spring has arrived. Though it is still finite in proportion, I thought a tour of our yard would be in order.

In the garden the peas are peekin'

Fruit trees are . . . fruiting . . . errr budding . . .

Seedlings in the greenhouse (bell peppers and tomatoes) are germinating right on schedule

The lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, and onions are sprouting and need to be thinned

If you look closely you can see new growth below the dead branches of last year's Mums.

(For Scotty) The Gecko is valiantly guarding the Mums day . . .

And night

In the front yard we'll find the Grape Hyacinths in full bloom. They are not anywhere near where I originally planted them, having migrated to a sunnier location all on their own.

Across the road from the house we find my new mail box

And, yes, I drew this myself. (The kids' artwork is far better) Please note the extraordinary similarity between the dog on the box and the one in the background--who wandered into the shot just as I was taking it.

Gary felt the need to add his two cents as well. (I love you too, Dear)

Gratuitous closing shot of my constant companion

God pours life into death and death into life without a drop being spilled. --Author Unknown

Happy Easter Everyone!

You know, Mary, I could see the similarity between Solomon and the dog on the mail box. I could see it absolutely perfectly.

Happy Easter.

Hope you had a good Easter, Mary, and my, what a nice garden you have - reminds me of a poem I wrote once (I'm pretty sure you remember it)
