We had to put Theo, our youngest feline family member, to sleep today. It's a long story, but we're all feeling like lousy cat-parents tonight. The whole household is subdued and upset.
So sorry to hear that, Mary. After having to put my dog, Arial to sleep about 15 years ago, I haven't kept another pet since; I think I cried more than the kids did...
I am just sick about this, but my youngest is heartbroken and cried all night. This is the first time in his young life that he's lost a pet. He and his Dad are out right now giving the little guy a burial.
