And in local news three men apparently drove twelve hundred miles just to abduct the wrong man. Don't you wonder what it would be like to be described by law enforcement as "bumbling idiots"?  I have no idea--and no one seems to know--why these three gentlemen needed to abduct anyone, but you'd think they'd want to get that detail right.

Does anyone out there remember the three characters on the Bob Newhart show, Larry, Darryl, and Darryl? Sadly, these three are probably not that bright . . .

I just received an e-mail from my sister. A guy in Mississippi got stopped for drunk driving. He presented his license to the police. The license had a picture of him and his girlfriend on it.

That's the stupidest fake ID ever.

I looked at the story and thought there must be more to it but the cops are playing it off like these guys are dumb. Maybe this guy is a family member of the fellow they wanted to abduct, yk? The chances of finding the wrong guy with the same name ... and knowing where to find him?

Unless they were really dopey and did the phone book thing and happened on someone with the same name... which can happen almost anywhere. Then we're back at square one. :)

Thanks for the email, Deb. It was a hoot. :)

Scotty, I actually considered pointing that out, but I was pretty sure Darwin Candidates had to be dead to qualify. These guys aren't--yet.

Mrs C--The rest of the story appears to be that there was a fourth guy who paid these three to kidnap a Jeff Mueller. The fourth character was on probation and wasn't even supposed to own a gun. He had sixteen in the house! I cannot wait to see how this unfolds further.
